Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is the most serious postoperative complication of thoracic surgery. We report a patient with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who developed BPF after undergoing lobectomy. To close the fistula, we instilled fibrin sealant (Tisseel) in the bronchial stump via a fiberoptic bronchoscope using a balloon catheter. We discuss the technique and our results obtained with this method.
